 balance and the sense of realism. If ever my work should

lack depth or character I will have failed.

From photo to portrait:

Here is a sample of the steps in the creation of drawing a portrait from a photo.

Meet Bruno: Bruno lives with his family in Puerto Rico. Not only does Bruno have fantastic eyes but he is very expressive with the tilt of his head and movement of  his ears. I just love his wrinkles

Step one, a clear and close photo

 

 Step two, a general outline starting from his eyes
Step three, determining the levels of grey

 Step four, enhancing and finalizing the deeper tones
